The town council

Elected in 2001, the town council, whose slogan is «St Joseph for all», and at the head of which is the Mayor Patrick LEBRETON, has taken up the challenge of developing St Joseph and its surrounding villages, and above all applying a policy of close contact with the population.

His team has defined seven objectives:
- Improving the local environment
- Priority given to employment
- Developing the economy
- Protecting the environment and a coherent town planning policy
- An efficient cultural policy
- Improving conditions for the young people of St Joseph
- Close contact with the members of the town council.

The “St Joseph for all” town council is aware that there is a lot to be done. However, the team intends to rise to the challenge of developing the area, while preserving its identity and that of its inhabitants. The UROI : Indian Ocean Rural University should contribute to making this possible.
